Services

The Etowah Carnegie Library offers our patrons a wide variety of materials with the most up-to-date books and materials we can. If you need something we don't have, we will try our best to help you find it.

We also offer fax services ($2.00 for first page, then $1.00 for each additional page - incoming and outgoing), copy services ($.25 per page), and free public Wi-Fi.

We are part of the State of Tennessee Auto-Graphics Verso Circulation System. You can look up books in our library or any library in our region online from any computer.  You can also renew your books and place holds online.  Click here for more information.

One very valuable service we offer is the Tennessee Electronic Library.

You may now access digital books using the R.E.A.D.S. system.

Library Card

A new library card is issued at no charge to area residents five (5) years of age and older after an application is completed and two (2) proofs of a correct, current mailing address is provided.  Library patrons under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian co-sign their library card unless they have a current valid driver's license.  A current driver's license is the most common form of identification/address verification, other items which can be used include mail, phone and/or utility bills, printed checks, voter's registration, etc. If you lose your library card, another one can be issued for a $3.00 fee.

It only takes a few minutes to register for your card and you can use it on your first visit although there is a first time limit to two books. On your next visit, you can borrow up to 20 items (books, audio books, and 2 movies)  from any of the library's circulating collections.

Please inform the library staff if an address or telephone number has changed. Failure to return library materials is a serious matter and can result in library privileges being suspended with a fine of $0.25 per day per book and $1.00 per day per DVD. This is assessed per day until materials are returned.

Computer Lab

We offer 11 public computer workstations with word-processing capabilities and except for the children's computer, Internet access.

Patrons wanting access to the computers must provide their library card.If a patron’s library card is delinquent, the patron must resolve the account before being granted access to the computers.Visitors will need to provide a current driver's license or picture ID.
