2018 Type of Tournaments

BOARD TOURNAMENTS - Individual competition with full handicaps with max handicap of 36. Choose your tee time and choose who will comprise your foursome.   There will be a net and gross pool for those playing white tees and a separate net pool for those playing green tees. Optional entry fee is $3 per man

 

FOUR CLUB TOURNAMENT- Same format and fees as used for BOARD Tournaments. Players are only allowed four clubs in their golf bag including the putter.  Scores are not to be entered into the GHIN computer.

 

ABCD TOURNAMENTS Various formats of four man teams are used. You cannot choose your partners. Teams will be selected by the Tournament Pairing Computer Program. Entry fee is $3 per man/$12 per team.

 

MEMBER-MEMBER TOURNAMENTS - Two Man Teams using various formats. You must choose your partner. Entry fee $3 per man.  

 Players with handicaps of 37 and greater will play at a 36 handicap

 

MEMORIAL TOURNAMENTS - Format is two man teams, better ball, gross and net. Entry fee is $4 per man.

Members may choose their partners for this event as long as the team meets the minimum team handicap requirement of 38 (Members with a course handicaps of 37 or greater will play as a 36 handicap)

 

For members who do not have a partner, a separate list will be posted in the locker room and on Google Groups to assist them in finding a partner and then select a tee time.

The best two low gross finishers and low net finishers qualify for the President’s Cup that is held in September to determine Club Team Champions.

 

 

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP & FLIGHT TOURNAMENTS

A championship flight is held for lower handicap golfers to determine a Club Champion, and generally four additional flights are conducted to determine champions of various handicap levels.  All flights are match play and played during the June thru August time frame. Entry fee is $5. Signup sheets will be posted in March.

The last date to sign up is June 13th.

 

PRESIDENT’S CUP – End of season Team Championship

Featuring 1st and 2nd   place Net and Gross winning teams

from the Memorial Tournaments .Format is sixteen, two man teams, better ball, gross and net, Entry fee is $5 per man.

 

 

All tournament winnings will be awarded in Pro Shop Credit.

 

 

 

Each year our club holds INTER CLUB EVENTS with Richter Park and Smith Richardson seniors. These events give us an opportunity to meet and play alongside members of other clubs. We will travel to Richter Park on June 21st and Smith Richardson on Monday September 18th.  Those clubs will also be visiting Tashua Knolls on August 2nd.

 

 

TRAVEL GROUP - Every other Thursday, a group of 6 to 8 foursomes travel to different courses in the state of Connecticut for a round of golf. Art Levitan, Jerry Duda and Joe Kelley are the Travel Group Co-Managers. You can contact any of them for further information.
