Grand Opening!

After all the hard construction work, the Space Needle was finally completed. The building finished four months before the World's Fair.

The fair’s opening day was April 21, 1962.

Every morning, 240 hungry people paid six dollars to eat breakfast high above the fair. The Space Needle's manager at the time, Hoge Sullilvan, estimated that 2.75 million people rode the elevators during the  World’s Fair.
