Deleted Windows.old folders are still taking up room on hard drive! Tech Support

Deleted Windows.old folders are still taking up room on hard drive!

I reformatted my computer with windows 7 recently and noticed that about 40-50 gigs of space was going to old windows.old folders on my hard drive.  I deleted them without a problem.  However, no space was freed up on my hard drive. My Computer
has the same amount of space in it as before but my C: drive doesn't (40-50 gigs were freed up on my C: drive but not on the computer).  I'm not sure what I am missing but I need to figure out how to free up that space so I can finish installing
programs on my pc and any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!!!

1.      How many partitions do you have on your computer?
2.      Have you installed windows on recovery partition?
Try running disk cleanup on the drive where windows is installed.
The drive on which windows is installed has a logo on it (As shown in the below picture for C drive)
