HTSC Players in Spain

Congratulations to Jaden Johnston and Nathan Komorek,members of our HTSC U13 boys team, who will be traveling to Barcelona, Spain this spring to compete in the world’s largest youth soccer tournament. Our boys will be competing with players from 40 different countries around the world. 
 
Nathan and Jaden are also members of the Soccer Vision Academy (SVA) U13 team club team.
The boys will be traveling to Barcelona as members of team USA International FC – East.
 
We are proud of these players and the coaches who have worked very hard for years to prepare these boys for this opportunity of a lifetime. 
 
The boys will be selling candy at Shop N Save on Sunday, February 26 to raise funds for their trip. Stop by and show your support!

Spring Tournament

Come dust off the winter rust at the Kent State Boys & Girls Spring Travel Soccer Tournament and get your travel team prepared for their spring outdoor season. Interested teams must be travel teams who are sanctioned with OYSAN or US Club Soccer and all players must have a valid player pass or birth certificate to play. This event has SOLD OUT in past years! Do not wait to register because tournament slots will be filled on a first come first served bases.
Each team will be guaranteed 3 games with a maximum of 4 games during the three-day event. U8 through U12 age groups will play a progressive tournament format with the top division leaders meeting for a championship game. Separate divisions for girls and boys, single age group divisions, but divisions may be combined depending upon entrants.

Location: Kent State Field House, 2227 Summit Street, Kent, Ohio 44240

Game Schedule: Please list any special scheduling request on your online registration form. This is event is played inside our Indoor Field House with out boards.
→ Friday, March 17th games for local teams will be scheduled and start at 6:00 PM.
→ Saturday, March 18th games will start at 8:00 AM and run through 9:00 PM.
→ Sunday, March 19th games will start at 8:00 AM and conclude by 5:00 PM.

U8 - U10 Boys & Girls: Will play 7v7 on a field size 55x45 in the KSU Indoor Field House. Games will be 40 minutes in length with no half time. Modified rules include sub on the fly, all free kicks are direct, goalie can punt the ball, regular corner kicks and throw-ins and no offsides.

U11 - U12 Boys & Girls: Will play 7v7 on a field size 55x45 in the KSU Indoor Field House. Games will be 40 minutes in length with no half time. Modified rules include sub on the fly, all free kicks are direct, goalie cannot punt the ball, but can throw the ball out, regular corner kicks and throw-ins and no offsides. One ref system.

Registration Deadline: Two weeks prior to event or until event age groups sell out.

Communication App

Many of the HTSC coaches are using the First Touch team communications app this season. Be sure to check you email for an invitation, download and sign on instructions. The app features team communications, schedules, and cancellation alerts. If you didn't get an email first check  with the coach if they are using the app, then check your spam box, and finally make sure the coach has you current email address. 

Fall Classic

The YAYSL Fall Classic Tournament is scheduled for October 7th through the 9th for age groups of U9 through U12 at Boardman Soccer Fields. 
Ages 13 to 15 are October 28th through the 30th at Poland Soccer Fields.

50/50 Raffle

All H.T.S.C. Families will have raffle tickets for a 50/50 drawing on sale from now till August 14. THE DRAWING WILL NOW TAKE PLACE AT THE HS GIRLS GAME ON FRIDAY AUGUST 19th. Tickets are $5.00 each and all proceeds go towards the purchase of new goals.

FORMS, FEES, & UNIFORMS

H.T.S.C. will collect fees, forms, and uniform sizes on Sunday May 22 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Hubbard City Buildingfor players that are registering to play in the fall. We will have uniforms for players to try on plus concussion forms that need signed by both players and a parent. Fees will also be collected beginning that night. a minimum of 50% of the fees must be paid that evening. Fees can be paid in Cash, by check made out to H.T.S.C., or by credit card using the registration & fees link on the web site. If you are not available at that time please contact your coach.

HTSC Honors our Alumni

HTSC would like to recognize members of the class of 2016 who have continued to play soccer in High School and are the first alumni of our organization to graduate.
Girls Players include; Taylor Chuey, Lauren Cooper, and Erin Luonuansuu
Boys Players include; CJ Latronico, Mo Rasul, Ben Rubinic, Jacob Shaffer, and Andrew Summers.

Changes Coming to US Youth Soccer

U.S. Soccer, our national governing body, announced today that the following formats of play are to be adopted as a best practice by August 2016 and will be mandated of all youth Member Organizations affiliated with U.S. Soccer by August 2017:

U6-U8 is 4v4 (with no GK) 
U9-10 is 7v7 (with GK) 
U11-12 is 9v9 (with GK) 
U13 and above is 11v11 (with GK)

U.S. Soccer has also announced a change in the classification of age groups from the School Year (August 1-July 31) to Calendar Birth Year (January 1-December 31). This change is to be adopted as a best practice by August 2016 and will be mandatory in August 2017 of all youth Member Organizations affiliated with U.S. Soccer.

Ohio North, as well as the other US Youth Soccer State Associations, is proceeding with implementation in the Fall of 2016. Following Spring 2016 and before club try-outs, affiliated clubs and leagues will need to transition to the small-sided games format listed above and to the Calendar Birth Year in preparation for the 2016-2017 seasonal year.

HTSC would like to say a huge thank you to Campbell Pharmacy for the donation of first aid kits and ice packs for each team. 
Also to the Fabrizio family for donating two five gallon water containers to be used at the concession stand.

ATTN COACHES

Here are some basic questions brought up at the last meeting by some Coaches.
IF YOU HAVE TO CHANGE A HOME GAME YOU MUST NOTIFY THE REF ASSIGNER!!!!
1. What are the referee fees?
    U9 & U10 teams your portion is $10.00 per Game
    U11 - U15 teams you pay the center $17.00 and each AR $9.00 for a total of $35.00 per Game.
2. How long are the halves?
    U9&U10 25 minutes each
    U11&U12 30 minutes each
    U13-U15 35 minutes each
3. What size ball?
    U9-U12 size #4
    U13-U15 size #5
