What a pleasure it is to meet you! Let me be the first to extend a welcome to you and to share something of myself with you as you find your way here. I am a cradle Episcopalian and a proud military brat. I was born in Wiesbaden Germany, the youngest of three children and spent much of my life traveling all over the world. The church was one of the touchstones for our family when we moved, and the constancy and consistency of the traditional liturgy of the Episcopal Church was a “known” no matter where we were.
I live in Laurel with my beloved German Shepherd, Jaedah, who sometimes is at church and my cat, who really believes she’s a dog, Ari. When not involved in church goings on you will find me at the gym, in my garden, off watching the sporting events of our kids, at one of the many professional sports events Washington has to offer, or, if the opportunity presents itself, traveling. Just say "lets go….!"
I am a second career priest, as is somewhat common in the Episcopal Church, going to seminary when I was 41, in 2001. I graduated from St. Luke’s Seminary at the University of the South in 2004 and was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in Rochester, New York, in January 2005. I bring with me into the ministry my love of words and writing--nice for me that I get to preach every Sunday--and a deep love of pastoral care.
I began my music ministry early, playing for worship services at the age of 12. At age 15, I gave my first full piano recital and became a church organist and choir director in the Methodist Church, where I became a Certified Director of Music.
Receiving a strong call to the Pastoral Ministry, I graduated from The Wesley Theological Seminary with an M.Div degree and served as a pastor for 31 years. Upon retirement, I returned to teaching music on high, middle and elementary school levels and being an organist-director in the Methodist and Episcopalian traditions.
My Family and I have lived in Bowie for the past 13 years. After 22 years in the printing industry, God decided to change my career path and I became involved in my Christian walk, which led me to Holy Trinity as Parish Secretary.
I am married to a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant of almost 15 years. We have 2 beautiful daughters, Elaina and Emily. When not working, you can find me in my garden, planting flowers, spending time with my family outdoors, or at the beach.
