Welcome

Welcome to my personal website. My name is Harsimran Somal and I am a graduate of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at The University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA, USA. I teach U.S. undergraduate college entrance exam preparation on a part-time basis. I tutor mathematics courses from high school up through undergraduate level, and statistics courses from high school up through master's level. My mathematical interests include computational statistics, Bayesian statistics, and more generally algorithms. The majority of my graduate coursework is in statistics. You can see samples of my writing for university courses on the Downloads page.

Before beginning my studies at The University of Iowa, I was a graduate assistant in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, USA, where I earned the M.A. degree in Actuarial Science in May 2010.
