Project Report:
Listens
First, I listened to what my teacher wanted my logo to look like. He wanted it to show Harmony’s colors; red, white, and blue. He also wanted it to represent HSS-High, by showing what our school is all about; math and science.
Thinks
Then, I thought about HSS-High. What represents this school? HSS-High is mainly about math and science.
Interprets
Next, I interpreted the notes I had. This logo needed to show three colors (red, white, and blue), and show that our school focuses on math and science.
Connects
Then, I connected everything together; the colors and the elements (math and science).
Simplifies
After connecting everything together, I simplified the logo. I made the logo look less complicated.
Bridges
Next, I made the logo look attractive.
Makes Memorable
Finally, I turned the logo into something extraordinary, so others would find it to be memorable.
Shown above is my final logo.
Here is a video explaining how I created the logo that is shown above.
(To create this video, I used Photo Story 3 for Windows)
*STEPS:
Step 1: First, create an oval using the Ellipse tool.
Step 2: To make a hydrogen element from the periodic table, make a rectangle using the rectangle tool.
Then, using the type tool, type the numbers 1 and 1.008. You can use whatever font you want. After typing the numbers, type the letter H and the word HYDROGEN.
Step 3: To represent the letter A in Harmony, I made an A+ sign. This A+ sign symbolizes how hard our students at HSS-High work. To create this sign, make a circle
using the ellipse tool. Then, use the type tool & type A+.
Step 4: Next, use the type tool to type an uppercase letter R using any font you like.
Step 5: To make the ruler shown, start by making a rectangle. Use the pen tool to make the
lines that represent inches on a ruler. After making the outline of the ruler, color it in using a shade of yellow.
Step 6: Later on in the design of the logo, you will need another ruler. To make things
easier for yourself, create another ruler by duplicating the ruler you made in step 5. To do this, click on your ruler using the selection tool. Hold your click on the ruler & press Shift and Alt, then drag. Another ruler should appear.
Step 8: Now, take the ruler you had copied in step 6 and put it next to the compass.
Angle the two objects so that it forms the letter M.
Step 7: Next, we are going to make the compass. The first part to this compass is the red pencil.
To make this, use the rectangle tool to draw a skinny rectangle. Then, duplicate that rectangle once. (To duplicate something, hold the object & press Shift & Alt, then drag the object) Once you have duplicated one rectangle, make it shorter than the other. Then, copy the shorter rectangle once more. Color the larger rectangle red and the two short rectangles blue. Use the polygon tool to make a pentagon. (To make a shape with less sides, press the down arrow) Then, create 4 triangles using the star tool or polygon tool. The 4 triangles will represent the pencil tips.
Step 9: To represent the letter O, make a magnifying glass. First, create a circle
using the ellipse tool. Color the circle with any color of your choice. Then, create a rectangle with the rectangle tool. This rectangle will be used to "connect" the glass & handle part of the magnifying glass. Use the rounded rectangle tool to make the handle. With the selection tool, make the handle more rounded.
Step 10: Use the ellipse tool to draw an oval. Then, cut the oval in half
using the scissors tool. Create one square with the rectangle tool, then copy it.
Step 12: Use the other ruler you created in step 5 to form the
letter Y with the beaker.
Step 11: To make a beaker, start off by using the rounded rectangle tool to draw it.
Cut the top part by using the scissors tool. Then, use the pen tool to draw lines on the right edge of the beaker. Use the ellipse tool to create a small circle. This small circle will be duplicated and represented as bubbles. Color all the bubbles and the beaker in different shades of blue.
Step 13: Color the A+ sign you made in step 3. You can color it any color of your choice,
but I chose red. I personally prefer this color because it was one of the elements I needed to include in my logo.
Step 14: Color the Hydrogen element you made during step 2. Once again, you can
color it using any color of your choice, but I prefer a light shade of blue.
Step 15: Use the type tool to type your schools name, which in my case was
"Harmony School of Science- High Sugar Land". You can use any font, but make it so the logo looks attractive with it.
I hope this website has helped you with designing a logo of your own!
