Jostens will be on campus for a Make-Up Delivery Day today, April 28th, in the Cafeteria Lobby during the lunches to deliver cap and gown units as well as other senior products. All items must be paid for in full before students can receive their products.    Cash or money order only will be accepted on the delivery date.  If you still need to place an order, go to www.jostens.com

The Martin Luther King Scholarship deadline is today!  Don't pass up on this opportunity for free money for your college education!  See you counselor for details!

It is Senior Night! It is going to be an exciting game. Go Hawks!! 

The HSHS Dance Program’s annual Symposium Concert is tonight at 7:00 in the Auditorium. The show highlights dances created by senior choreographers Barbara Babcock, Logan Macior, Brittany Utley and Emily Weiler, performed by dancers of the advanced level class.  This student-run production has free admission so come out and show your support!  

 

Last night at Heritage High School, the Stunt team won both of their games against Cary and Heritage. The girls worked hard and did an amazing job. This ensured that the girls made playoffs. Playoffs will be next Wednesday and the location is to be determined. Congrats Stunt team! 

Congratulations to the Mens Golf team for a phenomenal performance Wednesday at Prestonwood Country Club! The men finished 3rd in the 18 hole match and finished 3rd overall in conference, qualifying them for the Regional tournament that will take place on Monday. Freshman Zach Roberts led the Hawks and received Co-Medalist after shooting an incredible 5 under par! Zach also received honors for 1st Team All-Conference. Additionally, Corey Caldwell shot 73, Ben Collins shot 74 and Josh Bloom shot 76. Awesome job on a great regular season and good luck to the team as they try to qualify for the State Finals on Monday!

 

Any senior that was accepted to ECU, please stop by Student Services during lunch. 

Any student who has signed up for AP classes & was unable to attend AP night, please come to Student Services to pick up your packet of information.

 

Attention 2D AP Studio Art Students:  Please plan to bring in your 5 2D quality artworks on Tuesday, May 2.   We will meet in room 1610 during A- LUNCH to pack your artwork into the portfolios for shipment to AP Central.  

Also as a reminder for both 2D and 3D students:  Please have all digital images uploaded into AP Central by the end of the day on Monday, May 1st.

Come by to get resources, help on the material, testing tips, and quasi-motivational speeches. He is available during lunch each day except Fridays, and after school most days from now until the exam.

National Art Honors Society members have a mandatory meeting TODAY during A-lunch in room 1610. Hours sheets are due at today's meeting! This is our final meeting before our cording ceremony. Be there!

There will be a Key Club meeting today during A lunch in the auditorium. We hope to see you there!

Do you love to dance, perform, or are just looking for a fun new activity to join and make new friends?  Color Guard is for you! The HSHS Color Guard will hold their 2017 auditions beginning on Monday, May 1 from 5:30-8:30 PM.  Please arrive in the band room wearing comfortable clothes and a great attitude.  We can't wait to meet you and add you to our championship program.

 

JV Softball had a decisive win over Green Hope last night 15-0. Laynie Grogan started the game off strong with a 2RBI double. Maggie Burns followed suit with an in the park home run to start an 8 run streak. The defense, led by Alli Maynard with 10 strikeouts, allowed only 3 hits. Great job girls!

 

Varsity softball rallied for a comeback win last night against Green Hope with a final score of 12-8! Sydney Collins started on the mound and senior Alyssa Brown got the save. Going into the 5th the hawks were down 8-2 when Ari Kuchta blasted a 4-run in the park homerun to get the hawks in the game! MK Myers, Alyssa Brown, and Emily Barefoot contribute big hits in the 6th to get the score to 12! Tomorrow night is senior night for softball, come out and support our 6 amazing seniors!!

Did you know that there may be 90,000 students that go hungry over the summer? Chick Fil A Leadership Academy has a summer drive to help those students. Please bring canned food and bathroom products to room 1626 this week to help!


Are you a rising junior or senior and love English or reading and writing? Then the National English Honor Society is perfect for you! Applications are available outside room 1616 or on our twitter page. Applications are due May 19th.


The Driver Education summer school registration program has begun. Priority registration began on April 1 and runs through April 24, 2017. During the priority registration period, students are assigned to a class based on age, oldest to youngest. Students who register after April 24th are assigned to class on a first come basis as long as slots are available. Summer Registration forms can be found in Student Services or on line at www.jordandriving.com. Legible completed forms should be submitted to Student Services of the selected school or emailed to the lead teacher at the school selected. Schools, lead teachers and schedules are found on the back of the form. Each student must submit a summer registration form before getting assigned to a summer class.

There is a make-up session today during lunch for any student who has not completed the AP Testing Pre-Administration.  Each student who is taking an AP test and did not attend last Friday or yesterday’s session must attend this session before they will be allowed to test. The session will last around 45 minutes, students should bring a #2 pencil and their lunch because they will not have time to leave campus.

The MSA will be meeting today during A lunch in Ms. Brown’s room 3632.

AP Gov't review will meet in Room 2722 today during A lunch.  Topics will include Federal bureaucracy, iron triangles, and the federal budget process. 

There will be an AP Psychology review today in room 2708 during HOT lunch.  Review materials will be available for pick up during this time. 

Girl Up will be meeting today during B Lunch. Join us in Mobile 9A to help finalize letters to our representatives! 

Varsity Softball pulled off a 7th inning upset on Friday night against Middle Creek with a score of 5-4! Alyssa Brown and Sydney Collins combined to get the win, while big hits came from Abby Anderson and Alyssa Brown. Senior Emily Barefoot got the winning run RBI with a base hit single in the bottom of the 7th to give the Hawks their victory!
