Biotechnology is the study of the world around us and using that information to make advancements in technology. This experiment will show you one method scientist use to look at these bio molecular processes by breaking down membranes. This processes is necessary because DNA is surrounded by multiple membranes and it would be impossible to see under an microscope if these membranes were not broken down. In the video below I will be showing the procedures for the experiment.

• Description of my project : The main purpose of this project is to show how biotechnology is used in the world. In the video I will demonstrate my experiment about finding the DNA of a banana.

  • DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is the basic structure of all living things. DNA is made up of a phosphate group, a sugar group and one of four types of nitrogen bases. The four types of nitrogen bases are Thymine,Guanine,adenine,and cytosine. Each of these bases is pared up of with another for example: Thymine and Adenine go together where as Guanine and Cytosine go together. DNA is enclosed in the nucleus of a cell.
