ELA Component

I am focusing my math PBL on creating my own company and how it affects people and what it takes to be created. I will do my ELA component with an interview with a local business man who explains how he reached his goal of business and marketing.

INTERVIEW:

1. How did you start your business?

"After graduating from college with my computer engineering degree, I started off by working in a company as a sales man selling computers, and computer related products. Then after a few years I decided to break off and go on my own selling computers, and computer accessories."

2. What made you think of selling this product?

"I have a computer engineering degree, and with the generation now all the consumers want technology and technology like products."

3. What made you decide how much you would pay your employees?

"I pay them a basic salary plus commission on what they sell."

4. How did you go into business and marketing?

"I like the whole idea of sales and profits or losses."

5. How did you advertise your business?

"Through internet sources, plus word spreads around, and occasional ads and flyers."

6. How did you decide on a name that suits your company/business well?

"I thought of something that would be remembered, flashy, and easy to say so word could get around."

7. When calculating profits and or losses how do you sort through them all?

"I calculate by doing the cost of the product, plus operation fee/cost, extra payments, and the profit I want to make."
