The Ruben's Tube Experiment shows the correlation between sound wave and sound pressure. We will measure the sound waves by examining the different heights of flames we could reach. A speaker will cause a rubber membrane that is attached to a metal tube will cause the sound waves to move in a longitudinal manner. Which will allow us to see the peak of the sound wave.
What is the project about?
This project shows us how sound waves can be visually measured with a simple formula.
How does it work?
The tube with multiple equally spaced holes at the top allow flames to come out and the speaker on one end of the tube produces waves that effect the nature of the flame.
How long did it take to make?
Assembly and preparation takes about 10 minutes.
