Jelly Marbles

INTRODUCTION: The jelly marbles will turn "invisible" while in contact inside water.

MATERIALS: water-storing gel beads (any color) , Glass bowls, Water, Pitcher

PROCEDURE:

1- Gather materials.

2- Fill glass bowl(s) with water.

3- Pour/put water-storing gel beads into glass bowl.

4- Wait 4-6 hours.

5- Play around with/Touch jelly marbles, and notice how marbles turn almost invisible while in water but visible when not inside of water.

SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLE: When the polar covalent bonds make contact with the air, it looses it's polar ability and sticks to itself creating solid water spheres.

SAFETY REGULATIONS: Do not eat/swallow jelly marbles.
