I am doing my project on germs affects on people, the different kinds of germs, and how they work, and the main theme is how they spread. This is a very simple project. Here are the steps to do my project. My project is mainly on cell and how they spread so you will need the following:
Materials:
Glo gel
Glo powder
Black light
This all comes with a glo germ kit
Steps:
1) put either glo gel or glo powder on your hands
2)Walk around and do your regular routine for about an hour
3)When you are done turn off the lights in your house and turn on your black light
4)All of the powder or gel will glo in the dark
As you see all of the stuff is everywhere! This is kind of how germs spread.
This is just a brief introduction to germs if you are not familiar with them. There will be brief information about germs, skip to the bottom to find out how they spread and how to be safe from them. There are 4 major types of germs which include:
Bacteria
Protozoa
Fungi
Virus
Bacteria:are small you can only see them with a microscope. They are pretty much everywhere you look on your hand, the t.v, the sink, even inside of you. They can cause you to get sick or infect water and food. But bacteria is not only bad they help us digest our food, decompose waste, and even turning milk into cheese.
Protozoa: are cingle celled organisms, most can only be seen under a microscope. They mostly like to hang out in damp wet places. They are harmful to humans and can and will get you sick. But they are helpful because they are eaten by fishes and other animals.
Fungi: the main fungi are mushrooms or fungus on food like mold. Fungi can cause many things they like damp, dark places. The most common you have probably seen is mold, as well as mushrooms, these are 2 kinds of fungi. There true porpuse is to decompose dead organisms or wastes. They are bad to eat like all bacterias unless cooked but help the environment by decomposing animals making the soil richer.
Viruses: are too small to be seen without a microscope. They are harmful to you they get into your cell take it over and then
make copies of themselves using your cells. This makes your body weak and can lead to sickness or even death if it gets out of hand. But dont worry your body is used to fighting off viruses you'll be fine. Remember to get your flu shots and other vaccines though.
Germs spreads through you. Germs are everywhere and on everything you can only see it with a microscope but they can be fatal. There are millions of germs on everything you touch probably even the computer you are using to read this. They reproduce quickly and when you touch something you leave some of your germs on what you touched. This is why you should not share food with others because if you exchange germs you can become sick. You can stop germs by cleaning bleach and soap are a lot of good germ killers.Wash your hands regularly like after using the restroom, before and after eating, after playing outside, and after having an activity were you are physically active. Never leave your wounds unattended also, even if it is a small cut. But yeah germs pretty much spread through contact of one object to another.
Ways to be safe from germs:
Wash your hands regulary
Try avoiding sharing food or drinks
Take regular showers
Sneeze and cough in tissues not in your arm
Clean cuts and sores
Put bandades on your cut
Dont share any personal products such as toothbrushes, brushes, or combs.
Pretty much just stay clean.
Safety Precaution: Wash your hands after experiment.
