Physics behind it:
The physics behind this project has to do with the properties of milk. Milk contains vitamins, minerals, but also fat. When the dish soap starts to mix with the milk it weakens the bond between the proteins and the fats in the milk which is what makes the color spread. At first the color will spread very fast, but when the dish soap eventually mixes with the milk the color will stop spreading.
Materials:
Procedure:
1. Pour milk on the dinner plate
2. Insert drops of each color of food coloring without mixing
3. Insert clean cotton swab, again without mixing
4.Put a drop of dishwashing soap on the clean end of the cotton swab
5. Insert cotton swab into the milk
