HPOPT 2012

12th International Workshop on High Performance

 Optimization:

Algorithmic convexity and applications

June 20 - 22, 2012, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands

Theme

Modern mathematical optimization is firmly based on the interplay between convexity theory and algorithms. The scope of this workshop is to bring together researchers who work on recent trends and applications in convex optimization:
  • Foundations of convex algebraic geometry.
  • Solving large scale semidefinite programs.
  • Applications in compressed sensing, combinatorial optimization, and quantum information theory.
One special aim of this workshop is to provide a podium for promising young researchers in the field. For this we organize a special young researchers session and tutorial lectures by Alexandre d'Aspremont on "Large scale semidefinite programming algorithms".

Location

Room E of the CiTG building (Civil Engineering and Geosciences) on the campus of the TU Delft: Stevinweg 1, 2628 CN Delft. The CiTG building is opposite to the EWI building which is the highest building on campus.

Invited speakers

A. d'Aspremont (Paris), C. Bachoc (Bordeaux), J. Briët (Amsterdam), V. Chandrasekaran (Berkeley), F. Glineur (Louvain-la-Neuve), R. Hildebrand (Grenoble), E. de Klerk (Tilburg), M. Laurent (Amsterdam), M. Mevissen (Dublin), M. E.-Nagy (Amsterdam), M. Navascues (Bristol), D. Plaumann (Konstanz), S. Pokutta (Erlangen-Nürnberg), J. Povh (Novo Mesto), T. Rehn (Rostock), R. Registration and further information

The registration fee is EUR 75 to be paid in cash on site at the registration desk. A receipt will be provided at the desk. A conference dinner (costs EUR 40, students EUR 20, also to be paid in cash on site) will take place on Thursday evening at the restaurant "Cafe Diner Vlaanderen". The address is Beestenmarkt 16, and it is within walking distance from the campus.
