Research Projects

3D Reconstruction Based on Credibility Feedback
April 2012 - present
Working on precise 3D reconstruction by stereovision. In order to improve the performance of stereo matching, I propose a new method based on the credibility feedback of the parallax. By introducing a credibility function, an illuminant is controlled to project around low-reliability area, which creates an easily detected brightness change. Then matching points at that area are recalculated to update the disparity map and the overall matching accuracy is significantly enhanced over time. 

Battery Management System For PHEV Application 
June 2012 – August 2012
Worked on a joint program of NCSU, which seeks to develop a LabView-based Battery and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Data Acquisition System to evaluate battery estimation algorithms comprehensively. I took part in both the GUI design and the functions implementation of the system.

GA Optimized Wiener Filter for Image Restoration 
February 2012 – April 2012
Worked on estimating the parameters of Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) in Wiener Filter. I creatively introduced a clarity-evaluation-function of images and applied Genetic Algorithm to optimize it by adjusting SNR parameter. This optimized filter show significant improvement in image restoration.

Real-time Object Recognition
 January 2012 – February 2012
Worked on comparing the performance of different feature descriptors on object recognition. I reviewed several classical feature descriptors and implemented them.

Hidden Markov Model for Gesture Recognition 
November 2011 – January 2012
Worked on using Kinect to capture human body movement and apply Hidden Markov Model for classification of different given gestures. I put forward the implementation method and realized the core algorithm. This project had been applied in the RoboCup Competition 2012.

Multi-Angle Face Detection 
September 2011 – November 2011
Worked on robust face detection based on the fusion of Haar Classifier with different angle.

Software Development for Intelligent Transportation System 
May 2011 – April 2012
Worked on software development for urban emergency services based on OpenStreetMap Data, team leader of 3, involved in SRTP program of Zhejiang University. I conduct this project and apply SPFA to generate an optimal path from the nearest rescue center to accidental place.
