An open armchair for sale on behalf of a reader of this website: The chair is in unrestored condition and has never been tampered with. The upholstery is more or less intact but very distressed, some of the H&S ticking fabric is missing. The woodwork is excellent.
The chair was owned by Sir James Drummond and came from Hawthornden Castle in Scotland – when the family died out the estate was inherited by the butler who gave this chair and some others to the housekeeper who is related to the current owner.
Approx Dimensions: Height (back) 75cm, Width 65cm, Depth (seat) 60cm, Height (seat) 35cm.
N.B There is no Howard and Sons stamp on leg or castors as you will see from the pictures but this is not uncommon and you can clearly see it is the genuine article
Seller is in Carmarthenshire but could deliver for a fee depending on area.
Reduced to £1200. Contact me as usual at stevencoles85@gmail.com
