With the 2013 racing season just a few months away, Houston Motorsports Park and Coca-Cola are expanding their partnership.

Already the official soft drink provider for Houston Motorsports Park, Coca-Cola has upped their commitment for the 2013 oval track season as a main sponsor for the NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks class.

HMP would like to welcome Coca-Cola as the co-sponsor of the NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks,” said John Mandabach, general manager and vice president of Houston Motorsports Park. “It is just awesome to have a company of the size and with the respect of Coca-Cola partner with HMP. This brings added stability to our largest NASCAR class. We look forward to many years of working together.”

2012 was a breakout year for the NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks. The field averaged 23.8 trucks a race, with a high of 28 trucks at Speedfest. HMP saw 48 different drivers, out of the 60 registered in the class, make at least one start this season, with eight different drivers topping the speed chart – including 2012 champion Mason Teague – in what, because of weather, turned out to be a 12-race schedule.

It was a season like no other for the NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks in 2012,” Mandabach said. “But with Coca-Cola stepping up their commitment in 2013, along with co-sponsor BWFS Industries, and the truck series is in great shape. All the purse and points fund money is in place for the 2013 season and you can bet that means the fields will grow in the NASCAR BWFS Coke Trucks, as well as the NASCAR Fiesta Modifieds and the NASCAR Stock Cars.”

The newly named series will hit the track for the first time on March 2, when the 2013 season gets underway.

Together, Coca-Cola and the Houston Motorsports Park make the perfect partnership,” said Ivory Harrison, Coca-Cola Refreshments of Houston market unit food service director “As Houstonians, we are proud to make a positive difference by supporting this venue, which is so integral to the fabric of our local community.”

HMP is a state of the art complex, situated in a park like setting inside Beltway 8, on the North-East side of Houston, only 20 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from Bush Intercontinental Airport.
