Welcoming students from colleges and universities all over the world to the Visiting International Program for a semester or a year.

 

COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

FROM AROUND THE WORLD ARE WELCOMED

If you are an international student attending college abroad and would like to come to the United States for a semester we have an exciting new program for you. The Visiting International Program (VIP) helps college students come to universities for a semester or academic year and experience studying in the USA.

Students from the previous year came from: South Korea, Germany, Moldova, Russia, Sweden, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Finland, Holland, and France.

WHAT MUST I SUBMIT TO BE A VISITING STUDENT?

Visiting students must submit a letter of good standing from their current university

  • Transcripts in English from their institution with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Submit adequate evidence of financial support minimum $5000 US dollars.
  • Copy of your passport
  • Copies of your immunizations for Measles, Mumps and Rubella, TB Skin test with results (may be submitted later)
  • Once admitted you will be sent a Certificate of Admission and your DS2019 which will be used to apply for your J-1 visa.
  • Be sure to pay the SEVIS fee prior to your visa appointment; go to http://www.fmjfee.com to pay the $200 SEVIS fee online once you have been admitted
  • Last step is to request an appointment with your local US Embassy.

How much does the Visiting International Program (VIP) cost?

      • Visiting students are offered tuition waivers if they qualify for the program.
      • Visiting students are eligible to work on campus.
      • Visiting students are eligible to do a COOP after one semester in their major.
      • Visiting students have the option of living on or off campus.
