Most modern men can survive without many things. But for many no wifi is the limit! And there was no wifi on my second floor. I saw some wifi boxes on the reception desk. I smelled the wifi guy. Situation awereness is important if you want to get things fixed! There he was in the sofa. I told him about my no wifi. He went up to the second floor and saw there was no signal. He pointed out the TP box. It was sitting under the brown tiled roof, below the floor of the porch - too well shielded to reach the upper floor!

Looking down from the porch. The wifi guy loosened the pole that TP box was sitting on and moved it so the box came above the floor of the porch. Wifi now worked perfectly. It all took five minutes.

Air conditioner filter. A clean filter gives you better air in the room.

I asked house keeping to clean it. We don't do this. We get a technichan from the city (20 miles, 30 km, away).

I removed the cover. Sprayed it with the water jet at the wc.

It all took five minutes. And the air in the room became alpine. :)

Terrible sight! Nowhere a socket for charging my tablet.

I told reception and it was fixed in a minute.

Ceiling lamp on porch. Full of insects

Cleaned. But already an insect inside. And one on the outside.

I suggested the lamp should be sealed with tape. Probably no over heating problem with these modern low watt lamps.

When I asked house keeping to clean the ceiling light he planned to get up on this elaborate table. I could see for my inner eye it breaking in hundreds of parts of glass and wood. I would be a bit guilty.

Do you have a ladder, I asked. No.

It all went well.

Still intact. If broken it would have been a great mess. Let alone the cleaner could have been seriously hurt falling down.

Here is some of what was swept out.

Curtain does no cover window completely. It is stopped by the bracket.

Here it does. I moved the curtain beyond the brackets.

The wall lamp didn't work. Lamp changed. This was the only lamp in the room. No ceiling lamp, only a couple of wires there. Staff said there had been a ceiling fan there befor AC was installed.

1. Room has no trash can.

2. Door has no latch and can be quietly opened from outside.

3. Mosquitoes can enter under door.

Here we got three improvements, solutions:

1. Plastic bag hung on door handle.

2. Drawer rigged so it falls with a bang when door is opened.

3. Sealed with a rolled newspaper.

Looking over the side of the porch I noticed some things that presumably had been thrown from the porch, possibly by someone who found them on the porch and wanted to improve the looks of the hotel.

After cleaning. (There is a color difference between the Pictures. Bowl color not changed.)

Shower water mixer and wash basin tap were covered in hard water deposits.

Pointed it out to house keeping and it was fixed in minutes. Easier than I thought

For a start there was no plant to the right on my terrass. A nice house keeping lady put this one there when I indicated it would look nice with a plant.

There are a lot of fresh flowers falling from the trees on Bali. On my way to the hotel I picked up some and put them on the plant.

The bed is on the right. There was no table for e.g. the remote controls. I don't blame the hotel because there was not enough room for an off the shelf table.

A couple of drawers fitted nicely. It turned out that the remotes had a tendency to fall down between the drawers and the wall, on the left. I stopped this with a rolled bed linen.
