Calero Reservoir
23205 McKean Rd. San Jose, California

Calero County Park, one of Santa Clara County's most diverse regional park and recreation areas. Once part of the Pueblo lands of San Jose, and Rancho San Vincente land grant, this approximate 4,471 acre park is nestled in the eastern foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Calero offers a unique and diverse array of flora and fauna such as California Oak woodland, chaparral, riparian plant communities and associated wildlife habitats. In addition, the park offers breathtaking views of southern Santa Clara County and the surrounding Santa Cruz Mountain Range.

Course Description
Calero Reservoir has everything you would expect from a trail run in Santa Clara. The 9k is run on fire road with invigorating views. The Half Marathon and Marathon are split about 60% fire road, 40% single track. Much of the run is on the exposed grassland hills though there are miles of California Oak woodlands as well. There are beautiful views of the valley from Bald Peaks Trail. This is a hilly course and may be one of the toughest you've ever run. Aid stations will be positioned about every 3 to 4 miles. Please carry water accordingly.
