Three postdocs are selected as Instructional Associates (IAs) to work with faculty at Notre Dame of University of Maryland in the Spring semester. IA’s will make presentations to undergraduates in an Introductory Biology course. The program will include orientation, preparation and evaluation. Estimated total time commitment is 15-20 hours, late afternoon-early evening, during the 2012 spring semester. IA’s will receive a small honorarium. Deadline for Spring 2013 will be in December 2012.

Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Fellowship at the National Academies in Washington D.C. These are 12 week fellowships that allow fellows to contribute to Science Policy for just 3 months. Several SOM postdocs have participated in this program.
Julia Dooher is currently a postdoc in Pediatric Oncology researching the mechanisms underlying pediatric leukemia. She participated in the fellowship program in the winter of 2011.
