Our Mission: The Hope and Sunrise Historical Society is dedicated to preserving photographs, documents, and artifacts related to the communities of Hope and Sunrise Alaska.  Information on local history is presented at the Hope and Sunrise Historical and Mining Museum, through programs, publications, and this site.
You Can Help: Do you own a piece of Hope or Sunrise history?  Photographs, manuscripts, maps, deeds, letters, diaries, and articles help us understand how people lived in our communities.  Your donations are the first step to preserving the past.  We will do our best to keep your items safe, available to researchers and museum visitors.

Pandemic 2020: We are spending our time updating the website and cataloging artifacts.  We invite the public to stroll on the Museum Grounds, read our outstanding signage, and take pictures.  Our museum is dependent on donations, so please donate.
