What makes Hopeful Baptist Church different than other churches?
Our primary focus is:
"Learning to be Disciples,  Praying to be Inspired".

While attending Hopeful Baptist you will Learn:

  • The Basics of Christianity, Its Love and how to surrender to Jesus while coming to understand the essentials and importance of his salvation.
  • How to read the books of the Bible: Learn the bible's willed intention, its biblical grammatical meaning and the inspiration of the Spirit of God's revealed truth in whole for your situation in Life.
  • To Love, Know and Worship God with significances for who he is while being forged in a New Life by him for his Glory.
  • To embrace a strong Christian Ethics Worldview: Loving the world but not the things of the world through the wisdom and mercy of God.
  • How to be a Befriending Christian: in the Family, Community, Nation and World for God's Will to be done on earth.
(Romans 10:17 So Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God)

At Hopeful Baptist we believe the bible is inspirational, true and without error (the willed intention is infallible and inerrant). Meaning that what the authors of the Bible convey regarding matters of developing faith (In Gods Word), applied practice (active Christian life perspective and ethics), and matters of fact (history, geography, science, etc.)  was inspired by the Holy Spirit and is God the Fathers truthful intended will for the Human race. The Holy Scriptures will never lead us astray.

We believe that the authority of the Holy Scripture is extremely important and sufficient for life both physically and spiritually in this and every age. Those who profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are called to humbly, lovingly and faithfully surrender their life to Jesus as the Holy Scriptures "God's Holy written Word" commands. To continuously stray from the Holy Scripture in faith, conduct, lifestyle and corporate or individual Worship displays a negligible effort, limited respect and gives reason to doubt one's sincerity. We believe that recognition of the total truth and trustworthiness of the Spirit of God and the Holy Scripture in everything we do in life is in actuality an adequate confession of its authority. Centering our heart and behavior on what God reveals is echoing all that he intends us to be. It also gives residence to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in our lives for the world to see. In effect we believe that this sets us free from our own miserable life, grants us new life and respectfully gives God the Glory for all that he has decreed.

Worship to us is not liturgical and is far different from entertainment (John Frame, Worship in Spirit and Truth, p, 1). Our "Worship Service"  is both in adoration of what God has filled us with from his word and an expression of our joyful Christian lifestyle.

When it comes to music in our worship service at Hopeful Baptist we strive to make it comfortable to all. Even though we together as the body in Christ LOVE the gift of music, we recognize that music according to scripture is not considered something that God requires. It is added to our corporate worship in an attempt to glorify him through the very same lovely, precious gifts he gave us as a treasure. As much as we like hearing Gods gift of music played during our worship service, the greatest request from God when we are together or apart is to love him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength  For that reason it is Christ in the heart of our Church family in worship to God that is extremely important to us.

  • Martin Luther's view on worship was that we may do anything in worship except what Gods Scripture forbids.
  • John Calvin indicated that we may only do what Gods Scripture commands in worship.
  • My suggestion is to include Gods Holy inspirational Word and the love of Christ in all forms of worship whether it be individual, corporate or worship through music.

"It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools." Ecclesiasted 7:5

Five factors are important to remember about Worship at Hopeful Baptist church:

  1. May our worship be God, Gospel and trinitarian centered. And may the worship be both vertical (towards God) and horizontal (towards others) in direction.
  2. May we do our best to make it culturally applicable without destroying our christian fellowship with each other and the LORD
  3. We realize that God continually "seeks" (John 4:23) those who will worship him in the spiritual realm and therefore those whose spirit as well as all of their heart, soul and mind is worshiping God.
  4. May we never worship Music over the Love and Worship of the LORD "You shall have no other gods before me."
  5. The Pastor knows how to Rock better than most having grown up through the 60's, 70' and heavy metal 80's but he also knows the importance of God's Spirit, Living Word and how to Worship God in Spirit and living devotion.

Come visit us as we join together as one body bring God all the Glory.
