Welcome to Hooe Point Sailing Club, we are a small sailing club based in Plymouth for Civil Servants and friends of Civil Servants. We were originally formed to make sailing and boating affordable.

With the biggest dinghy fleet in Plymouth, Hooe Point Sailing Club enjoys great competitive Monday night summer racing and Saturday morning winter racing around Plymouth sound. The majority of dinghies sailed are single handers with a few older style double handers thrown in for good measure.

Yachts enjoy the delights of the Port of Plymouth with Hooe Point Sailing Club's Wednesday night white sail cruise around the cans. Starting mid April and running through until September. Very Corinthian, cruising with a bit more of a purpose around various Port of Plymouth navigation marks.

Dinghy Storage and facilities

We have partnered with The Mountbatten Watersports and Activites Centre and have over 50 all year round dingy spaces available.

Members can use the facilities at the Mountbatten Centre with a  discount at the bar.

Cruising

Some of our members enjoy cruising together around Plymouth Sound and further afield. Summer trips to Cawsand for a pasty and pint are common.

If enough dinghy members are interested in days out we try and arrange safety boat cover.

Moorings and Winter Yacht Storage

We have strengthened the club's relationship with the Cattewater Harbour Commissioners who have allocated their P-Trot opposite the Oreston Slipway to HPSC members. It is only suitable for bilge keel and motor boats max length 28ft however Cattewater Harbour Commissioners are very helpful and are keen to find other members suitable moorings too. Details of their moorings can be found here: https://plymouthport.org.uk/leisure/moorings/

We have also forged links with the Plymouth Marine Centre on Laira Bridge who are making available some winter storage for our members at a reduced rate.
