Welcome to my personal website! My name is Qing Qu (曲庆), currently I am a third-year Ph.D student in Columbia University, my advisor is Prof. John Wright. I am also working closely with Mr. Ju Sun. Prior to that, I obtained my B.E. degree from Tsinghua University in Jul. 2011 working with Prof. Yuantao Gu. I got my M.S.E. degree from Johns Hopkins University in Dec. 2012, working with Prof. Trac Tran and Dr. Nasser M. Nasrabadi at ARL. I am so fortunate to work with these wonderful people!

  • Research:
My previous research focused on applying compressed sensing techniques for the hyperspectral unmixing problems. However, gradually, I found myself more interested in the theoretical understandings of signal processing and machine learning problems. In particular, I am currently very interested in
  1. Developing computationally efficient methods and statistical theory for analyzing high-dimensional data of low intrinsic structure.
  2. Applying these techniques to solve problems in signal processing and machine learning in the big data setting with provable guarantee.

  •      I have been awarded the Microsoft fellowship for 2016-2018. Thanks Microsoft, and I am sincerely grateful to my advisor Prof. John Wright and my good friend and close collaborator Mr. Ju Sun. And thanks to all my other collaborators.
