Christian Prins is a full professor at Troyes University of Technology (UTT, France) since 1999. From 2000 to 2005 he has served as head of the Industrial Engineering Department and, from 2008 to 2012, as head of the Industrial Systems Optimization Laboratory (LOSI).

He received his PhD degree in 1988 and his habilitation in 1995, both in computer science from Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris). After an industrial career as software engineer at EUTELSAT (Paris) from 1981 to 1990, he turned to teaching and research. He became an associate professor at IMA (Institute of Applied Mathematics, Angers, France) in 1990 and then at the Ecole des Mines de Nantes in 1993.

Professor Christian Prins is interested in combinatorial optimization and operations research, with applications to production, logistics and transportation systems. His publications of the last decade are mainly devoted to vehicle routing problems. He has published 23 books and contributed chapters, 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented communications in more than 180 conferences, including 63 with published proceedings. His h-index is 31 according to Harzing Publish and Perish (December 2013).
