This year Environment Sunday is on Sunday 5 June so we will be 'Celebrating God's World of Wonder' in both our services at 9.30am and 11.15am. Environment Sunday is the Sunday nearest to World Environment Day which is always 5 June so this year they coincide.

At Allsorts, the 11.15am service, some of the activities will be outside, weather permitting.

Also, to mark the day please bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the Community Garden in the churchyard, following Allsorts, whether you come to that service or not.

The day ties in nicely with our efforts at maintaining & improving the churchyard as part of our entry in the Lichfield Diocese Churchyard Awards Scheme. If you want to find out more about what we are doing, some of the regular churchyard team will be on hand to show you around the different areas that we look after, and if you would really like to help make a difference you can join in with some easy jobs like clearing faded flowers from graves, sweeping paths or litter picking.

If you'd prefer simply to enjoy your picnic with friends in the peaceful surroundings, that’s fine as well. Everyone is welcome.

This photo of a comma butterfly was taken in the churchyard.
World Environment Day was started in 1974 by the United Nations. It is 'for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment'.

The day is now celebrated in over 100 countries so what we do on Environment Sunday we really are doing as part of a global community.
