Ascension & Pentecost: Let's Celebrate!

Holy Spirit

We are drawing towards two celebrations in the church. First is Ascension Day, commemorating when the risen Jesus ascended and returned to take his place at the right hand of the Father in heaven.

Second is Pentecost, remembering when the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus' first disciples and how the Church came into existence – the birthday of the Church. Pentecost fulfilled the prophecy of Joel, when God said; "In those days I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike." [Joel 2:28-29].

On the right are highlighted some of the events that will be happening during the month of May as we focus upon these miraculous and momentous events.

These are great opportunities to witness to the love of God revealed through Jesus Christ to our city, our friends and our neighbours, and to worship and pray with our brothers and sisters in Christ from different churches, for our city and the wider world. Please make a note of the dates and times and get involved as much as you can.
