Welcome to the Holy Spirit Primary School website. We are proud of our School and hope that the information at this site will help you to learn more about us.
For current students and parents, the site is a place to find the school newsletter, to find events on the calendar, important school information and special events.
For past parents, staff and students, it is a way of keeping in touch with the dynamic changes at the School.
For future students and parents, it is a place to gather important information about becoming a member of the Holy Spirit School community.
Holy Spirit School was founded in 1979 by the Singleton Mercy Sisters. The Mercy Order began with Catherine McAuley in 1831 with the first sisters arriving in Australia in 1875. The charisma of the Mercy Sisters is captured in the School Motto “To Live, To Love, To Grow in Christ.” At Holy Spirit School we welcome all, seeking to build a community of hospitality and inclusion.
Children are able to start their educational and spiritual journey with Holy Spirit from three years of age at the Holy Spirit Community of Learners. The Community of Learners provides a dynamic and stimulating environment with developmentally appropriate, child centered learning experiences for children aged 3 to 5years.
Holy Spirit Primary School will continue to support children through their educational and spiritual journey from grades Transition to year 6. The school provides a strong supportive community environment which:
Expects high standards in academic work and student behaviour
Challenges all in the school community to develop a real spirit of justice that makes a difference to the way we live our lives
Celebrates and sanctifies life and everything in school life that is life giving.
The school has expansive grounds and is conveniently located near key retail & service centres. Holy Spirit has a long and proud sporting and academic tradition and continues to serve the Darwin Catholic community as an outstanding educational institution.
