Full-Time RV Travel Blogger

As some of you probably already know, in 2016, I flew to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago. I did this after working full-time for 35+ years as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent. In 2016, I also completed my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and needed time to decide what to do next in my life.

While on my pilgrimage in Spain, I earned the nickname, "Camino Turtle" since I was one of the slowest walkers on "The Way". During this long 500-mile hike, I came to the realization that I needed to get healthier. There was no reason why, at the age of 57, I was slower than the 90-year-olds who passed me on the trail. There was no reason why a small hill should take my breath away and cause me to sit on the side of the path.

So, when I returned home, I quit my office job, sold my condo and embarked on a journey of self-discovery through travel and study.  This is all being accomplished while I live full-time in a 30-foot motor home. My lovely Winnebago Itasca Sunstar 30T is named Belle and together we are discovering the wonderful people and places in North America.
