Prayer

Being part of the larger Franciscan family, we actively engage in both morning and evening prayer as well as participating in communal rosaries and the Franciscan Crown.  We focus our prayers on issues of social justice, environmental justice, peace, and care for those in need.  As a group proceed by the Holy See, we actively pray for the special attention to the intentions of the Holy Father.

Fraternal Life

When we gather in fraternity we focus on the study of scripture as well as continual Franciscan formation.  We have engaged in formation through Lectio Divina, in depth study of the Rule, reading Franciscan books in community, and audio presentations from internationally known Franciscan speakers.  We also participate in a number of retreat experiences throughout a year as well as a Unity Day celebration in Kokomo, IN with our Brothers and Sisters of the Our Lady of Indiana Regional Fraternity.  We understand the importance of relationships within the Franciscan way of life and take time to cultivate strong relationships with those at all stages of formation within the fraternity.

Fun

Service, prayer, and fraternal life are very important elements of our community life but it is also important for all of us to balance our lives and include fun.  In addition to service, prayer, and formation, we need to balance our lives with elements of fun.  During each of our gatherings we devote time to getting to one another outside of our fraternal lives.  In Holy Family Fraternity we spend time while breaking bread engaged in a time of "getting to know you."  Each month one of us takes a few minutes to answer 10 questions about ourselves.  This allows us to share information that is often times a little bit lighter side of our personalities and yet another way to connect as we share in continuing the work of Christ through following Francis.

We meet once a month at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, IN.  We honor and remember those who came before us and we strive to develop and grow into a fraternity to reach out to the youth and make our community and the world a better place.
