Biography and Contact

I have been teaching high school Chemistry since 2008.  I began my teaching career in Brooklyn at Bushwick Leaders High School and then moved to Philadelphia, where I taught at West Philadelphia High School's Automotive Academy.  During the 2010-2011 school year, I worked with the West Philadelphia EVX Team, an award-winning afterschool program that teaches students real-world skills by designing and building environmentally friendly cars.  I traveled to California with a group of students in April 2011 to present the group's Electric Very Light Car at the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Awards.  The students took first prize in the Clean Energy category, winning $5,000 for their school.  In the summer of 2011, I traveled to Houston to participate in a Zero-Gravity program for educators through the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory.  The goal of our experiment was to study the effects of zero-gravity on an internal combustion engine.  I will begin my first year at Freire Charter School this fall.  Outside of school, I enjoy music, sports, nature, food, and Scrabble.
