Yay!! A project!! The project is basically to follow the journey of a hero or heroine in one of your favourite stories. You will see if and how closely the hero in your story follows the Hero Quest outlined by Joseph Campbell.
The good thing about this project is that you get to choose your own topic. It can be a novel, a movie, a comic book, or even a video game. You can even do an analysis on an entire series!!
Here are some suggestions to get you started:
Harry Potter (any individual book, except the first one, or the entire series)
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
The Hunger Games
Percy Jackson
any Disney movie (I love Beauty and the Beast!!)
Another good thing about this project is that it is ongoing. If you don't know what story to pick right now, you can wait until you have read some of the lessons. Maybe an idea will pop into your head one day.
The deadline for each part is just a guideline, for those who work better with deadlines. As long as your work is submitted by June 15th, I will grade it. You can also just do one or two parts if you do not have enough time to do all of them.
