Hi everyone!!
My name is Scarlet Leslie-Lewis. I completed my 7-year journey as a HOL student and became a professor.
In RL, I live in New Jersey in the United States. The majority of my family is in Taiwan. I completed another long journey (6 years) in 2013 becoming a doctor of pharmacy. I play volleyball for fun. At one point, I actually played 4 days a week! I love jigsaw puzzles, board games, and reading.
Journey of the Hero was inspired by a World Mythology class I took. I had to write a term paper analyzing whether a story followed the ideas in Joseph Campbell's The Hero with a Thousand Faces and two other sources (Vladimir Propp was one!! Luckily, I took the Fairy Tales class taught by Prof. Cassandra Lobiesk before World Mythology). I chose Dealing with Dragons (Book 1 of The Enchanted Forest Chronicles) by Patricia C. Wrede for my paper. Someone else picked Harry Potter, but Harry Potter would not have been a huge challenge for me anyway. Also, it was nice to be able to re-read The Enchanted Forest Chronicles. World Mythology was a wonderful class. I learned a lot, and I hope you learn something from this class!!
Here is a portion of my final project from the class:
Part of my own personal journey, though I'm not sure if I would call myself a hero just yet ;)
