HEALING PRODUCTS
Luckily, some witches and wizards figured out formulas for healing and the products can just be bought! Chocolate can be bought at Honeydukes Sweetshop or any candy store. It is a delicious and powerful antidote for the chilling effect caused by Dementors.
The next few products come from the genius of Fred and George Weasley. They can be found in Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley.
The Skiving Snackbox was invented to aid students skip class. It included four sweets: Fainting Fancies, Fever Fudge, Nosebleed Nougats, and Puking Pastilles. A Fainting Fancy will cause the person to faint. Fever Fudge makes the eater get a high fever. A side effect of Fever Fudge is large, pus-filled boils (but these can be eliminated with Murtlap Essence or Boil-Cure Potion). A Nosebleed Nougat makes the eater's nose bleed heavily. Puking Pastilles make the person sick within a few seconds of eating them. All the sweets come with two coloured parts. One part will cause the malady and the other part will stop it. It is useful to have a few pieces of the Skiving Snackbox around for medical emergencies. Just make sure you or the person affected eats the correct part!
Another useful product comes from the WonderWitch line of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes - the Ten-Second Pimple Vanisher. It is sold in a small pink pot. The Ten-Second Pimple Vanisher works on anything from boils to blackheads. It is a wonder for all those teenagers afflicted with acne. Sacharissa Tugwood, a witch known for developing cosmetic potions, discovered the pimple-curing properties of bubotuber pus. Diluted bubotuber pus is a great treatment for acne. Bubotuber pus is probably an ingredient in the Ten-Second Pimple Vanisher. It is better to use the WonderWitch product because bubotuber pus that is not diluted correctly can cause horrible and painful boils.
Skele-Gro is a potion that regrows bones. However, using Skele-Gro is nasty business. The potion smokes when it is poured. It has a horrible taste. In fact, swallowing the potion burns the throat. The entire process is slow and painful.
Dr. Ubbly's Oblivious Unction is a potion that heals any scarring left by thoughts. Madam Pomfrey used it on Ron Weasley's arms after he was attacked by brain tentacles.
