ANTIDOTES
Antidotes are usually associated with poisons. But, an antidote is anything that protects against or acts as a cure for a specific illness. Just about everything taught in this class so far are antidotes. Most antidotes are potions, but here are a few examples of other types of antidotes.

HEALING POTIONS
Potions are when two or more ingredients are brewed together in a cauldron. There are many different types of potions, with many different effects. Here are some potions used in healing.
Pepperup Potion is called the Wizarding cure for the common cold. It was invented by Glover Hipworth who was frequently sick with the cold throughout his life. After trying so many different remedies, he finally found one that worked! Some witches and wizards claim that the Pepperup Potion only relieves some of the symptoms of the cold or flu. There is a side effect of Pepperup Potion - steam will come out of the ear of the drinker for several hours after the potion is taken.
Murtlap Essence is a useful home remedy for soothing the pain of cuts and abrasions. It is a solution of strained and pickled Murtlap tentacles.
