HOMEWORK (30 points)

What is the Treatment? (3 points each)

Using what you learned in the lesson, tell me what you would do in each of the following scenarios. Please answer in complete sentences. Each question is worth 3 points! Make sure your answer reflects that. I WILL take off points for lack of effort.

1. You find out that your classmate's father is a werewolf. What can you suggest to make his transformation less painful?

2. Your grandmother is sad all the time. You suspect that she is depressed. How can you help her?

3. Your friend is currently recovering from an accident. The pain from his injury makes it impossible for him to sleep. What can you do to help him?

4. A student experienced something terrifying in the Forbidden Forest. He refuses to talk to anyone about the ordeal. What do you suggest he should do?

5. It is exam week. Several students are showing signs of being extremely stressed. What can you do to help them?

6. One of your friends complains about nightmares. She has not been able to sleep for days. How can you help her?

2. Write a longer description for Vanishing Sickness or Scrofungulus. Are there any other symptoms? How can the disease be treated? (Minimum 100 words)

3. I considered including Memory Potions as a treatment for mental illnesses. Do you think they belong in the lesson? Why or why not? (Minimum 100 words)

4. Believe it or not, it is possible for a witch or wizard to catch a Muggle disease! Match the following diseases with the name and type of organism that causes the disease (some research may be required).
