Are You a Sour Beer Fan?

posted 16 Nov 2015, 22:40 by Hob Goblin

If so, pop in soon. We have a very limited stock of a selection of special sour beers to introduce our new beer fridge. This fridge will be used to allow us to sell a varying selection of  bottled delights from around the world.
The current selection includes beers from Oud Beersel (Belgium), Lervig (Norway) and Lindemanns (Belgium) among others.
Expect to see some German Bock beers in the next few weeks, and maybe a transatlantic visitor or two.
Ask at the bar to see a copy of the latest menu.

Under Almost New Management

posted 6 Oct 2015, 08:27 by Hob Goblin   [ updated 22 May 2017, 02:07 ]

Yesterday saw The Alehouse come under the control of Carl, who existing customers will know from his years as assistant manager. Carl is a great believer in the motto "If it isn't broken, don't fix it. But if it is, do", so you can expect to see a number of tweaks and improvements but no fundamental changes in the pub.
Among the planned tweaks so far is the installation of another bottle cooler, to allow for the introduction of a changing range of guest bottled beers. You can expect to see more Belgian and German beers, and maybe a few of the better American brews.

Craft Keg arrives

posted 26 Jan 2014, 09:51 by Hob Goblin

The first Craft Beer on the key-keg dispense system has now gone on sale. It is Siren Craft's Undercurrent, at 4.5% abv. This will be followed by a beer from Art Brew. Which brings me to the thanks. Thanks to John from Art Brew for his efforts today in getting the hardware working  and leak free.

New Pump

posted 12 Jan 2014, 07:49 by Hob Goblin

The more observant of you will have noticed that the Lovibonds pump has been replaced with a new double-headed keg font. By way of response to some of the speculation we can confirm that when it is fully installed we will be featuring rotating guest kegs with a focus on products from some familiar (and more unusual) microbreweries. Expect to see stronger and unusual brews and do bear in mind we will be selling beers from this pump in 2/3 and 1/3 measures
We would particularly like to thank John & Becky at Art Brew with their help organising this and you can expect to see some of their beers on the pump on a regular basis.
