Kenny Comello & Blue Heaven

Skee discovered the Blue Heaven jade deposits and the little vacant redwood cabin by the creek a mile upstream from the Hobbit Mine, around 1968.

Kenny Comello appeared in Willow Creek canyon during the summer of 1970.  He was fresh from Chicago, and had hitched across the states to reach Big Sur.  And Kenny was bent upon staying awhile.

At one time this site was a placer gold claim owned by a Mr. Jewell, named the Diamond Mine.  The claim hadn't been worked in some years.  When Kenny moved in and staked this as a jade claim, he named this the Blue Heaven from the many rare blue-green nephrite jade placer boulders and nuggets he mined.
