Rotary Club of Hobart 2016 Art Show

The 2016 Art Show was held on 2nd September - 4th September, 2016
at the Wrest Point Convention Centre.

The Show provides artists with an excellent opportunity to exhibit and sell their works and caters for new artists as well as established ones.  Their participation also helps the Rotary Club of Hobart each year to raise over $19,000 surplus to be applied to the club’s charitable works.

This year patrons were certainly spoilt for choice in what to buy - so many exceptional works on display. Approximately 59 hung items were purchased plus many items from the Tables.

A summary of the 2016 Rotary Club of Hobart Art Show is-

·        Around 700 people viewed the exhibition, plus 120 who attended opening night.

·        379 works were displayed by 120 artists

·        Sales value was approx. $24,000 plus $14,800 from the auction.

·        12 organisations sponsored the show, 6 supporters provided discounted or free services, 11 artists and organisations donated works to the auction and 5 to the Phil-Art-Thropic section.

·        Surplus to the club is approx. $19000 which goes into our charitable funding account for use in supporting the range of causes we receive requests from each year.
