 HERCULES MUSIC BOOSTERS ASSOCIATION MEETINGS
Meetings are open to all.  As it was in the 2016-2017 school year, in 2017-2018, there will be two Music Departments with Sharon Calonico as the Middle School Music Director and Anthony West as the High School Music Director.  You can find their email addresses on the right hand side on this announcement page.  The dates for the board meetings in the 2017-2018 school year will appear on the calendar.  Agendas for each meeting, as they become available, will be attached to each date. Once they are approved at a Board meeting, the minutes will be posted there as well.  The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2018 so  look for the agenda by clicking on the Hercules Music Boosters Association section and on the Calendar for the meeting date.

MUSIC DIRECTORS' SYLLABUSES POSTED 

The information about the music classes, expectations of music students, and other important details that families need to know are posted on this web site under each Middle School or High School music section on the list to the left of this message.  Each syllibus includes a page that the parent/guardian signs and returns to the Music Director by the announced deadline date.


2017-2018 HMBA BOARD MEMBERS ELECTED
At the potluck and Hercules Music Boosters Association meeting on September 20, 2017, the HMBA board members were unanimously elected to their positions.  To see the list, click on the Hercules Music Boosters Association menu option to the left of this message.
POPCORN SALES A SUCCESS!
To all those who participated in the recent popcorn sales:  Thank you for your support in helping our musicians raise money for the Middle School's Music in the Parks at Great America trip and the High School Womens Choir's Disney Vocal workshop.  The results of the sales:  Top Middle School seller was Anja Magsombol and Top High School seller was Karyn Johnson.  Each received a $10 credit on their fund-raising account.

SUPER BOOSTERS
Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to become Super Boosters.  Click on the Super Boosters menu option at the left of this message to read the details listed on the form provided there.  Once your Super Booster membership is received and recorded, you will have a membership number and your name will be on the master list next to the name you used when you joined.  Those who have not received your membership card will be send a virtual card that can be stored on your smart phone to be shown to the persons checking in attendees at each concert during the 2017-2018 school year.  This will ensure that your number, if selected, can be drawn for a surprise to be awarded during the concert.  At any time during the 2017-2018 school year, check the list by clicking on the Super Boosters menu item to the left of this message.  The form can be downloaded, completed, and provided with payment to Mr. West or Mrs. Calonico.  

MUSIC CONCERTS SCHEDULED FOR 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

Posted on the Calendar to the left of this announcement are the scheduled music concerts for the 2017-2018 school year.  All concerts (except the All-District Music Festival at the Richmond Auditorium) will take place in the Hercules High School Gymnasium with performances starting at 7:00 p.m.  In the days leading up to each concert, the Hercules Middle School and Hercules High School Music Directors will be reminding their students and the students' families about the details.  As they are made available, flyers with pertinent details will be attached to each concert date on the calendar.  


2018 MATTRESS SALE FUNDRAISER IS OVER FOR 2018

The Mattress fundraiser event held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 was a great success!  Thanks to those who came to purchase or just look at the selection and ask questions.  Students who referred buyers benefited also.  $3,300 was provided to HMBA as a result of the sale.


SPRING STUDY TRIP FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN'S CHORUS

It is now an annual tradition to take one of the music ensembles on an academic outing and on March 14-17, 2018 it is the chorus' turn to go.  At Disneyland in Anaheim, the chorus members will have a Disney-themed soundtrack recording session in a professional-grade recording studio.  A letter to the music students' families about the trip is attached to the High School Women's Chorus menu item to the left of this message.


HIGH SCHOOL ADVANCED ORCHESTRA MUSICIANS WILL PERFORM 
AT THE HERCULES LIBRARY 

On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1:00 pm, members of the Advanced Orchestra will play selections from their musical repertoire.  You won't want to miss this.  Here are the details:


QUARTET OF THE HIGH SCHOOL ADVANCED ORCHESTRA
WILL PERFORM AT THE HERCULES CITY COUNCIL MEETING

On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the request of Hercules Mayor Chris Kelley, High School Music Director Anthony West will provide information about the music program to the Council, Staff, and audience and a quartet will perform.


PHOTOGRAPHS OF MUSIC EVENTS

All those who attend a musical event on the Hercules Middle School and Hercules High School campus and take photographs are encouraged to submit them directly to the Facebook page, the address of which is shown at the right hand side of this message.  Also, photographs taken at other events such as those occurring in the Hercules community and competitions outside Hercules can also be submitted to the Facebook page.  The Photo Gallery section on this web site has been discontinued and all previously-posted photographs were removed as of May 5, 2017.
