Tech Support Team


Our tech department are commit to our students and staff by supporting and teaching new knowledge and skills in technology.  Hakipu’u Learning Center (HLC), rooted in traditional wisdom of Hawai`i, utilizes the best educational tools and technologies to support a community of life-long learners in achieving success now and into the future.

HLC is very grateful to have an extensive amount of technology resource to support our daily operation. Tech equipment resource run from desktop computers to printers to cameras and much more.   HLC is fortunate to provide a 1 computer per 2 student ratio in each classroom and enough desktop or laptops for most staff, plus much more tech equipment.   Therefore, HLC has a Tech Resource Team that help support everything to do with technology.  Tech Staff, Tech Volunteers, and Junior Technician all play a vital support role in our Tech Department.

Maxine serves as the HLC Technology Support Specialist has an AA in IT from the University of Phoenix Hawaii Campus, is certified in MOUS, Network, & A+ at Hawaii Technology Institute, and is a Certified Video Producer & Equipment Operator at ‘Ōlelo Channel.

She has over 20 years experience working and teaching Hawai‘i’s youth in various areas. Maxine has been employed in the Tech Department of Hakipu‘u Learning Center since 2004. She has experience in supporting and maintaining different computer hardware, software and network systems and feels her greatest tech achievement at HLC is starting and maintaining a Junior Technician Program that trains students to support all areas of the Tech Department. Maxine is also a happy mother of a young adult son, her daughter-in-law and her 3 mini dachshund hound dogs.  She is a life long hula dancer and hula teacher - “Kumu hula.” She enjoy teaching the young women of "Kuha‘i Halau 'o Kahealani pa ‘olapa kahiko" at Kualoa Ranch next to her residence in Ka‘a‘awa on the windward side of O'ahu.

Junior Technicians

Jr Tech 2012

This program is design to train students on basic skills and knowledge of technician duties.  Student start their tech career by taking an introductory course during the summer then upon completion they are qualified to participate in our Junior Tech Program for the upcoming school year. During their summer course students learned basic parts of hardware computer equipments and how they work,the different types of operating system software by performing installations, and basic computer networking parts and operations and much much more.  These skills give students a higher edge in the education and business industry that gives them a more marketable edge.
