Schedules & Events

Our Main Street Museum is available to tour by appointment from mid-May through October, with business meetings in spring and fall. We are open during Cabot's July Fourth Parade. Programs are scheduled during warm weather, as we lack central heating. We have numerous artifacts from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; they typify life in a small Vermont farming town.

We also have  several  albums of photographs and historic documents, including over 1,600 items from the Thomas Osgood, Esq. collection. Thomas Osgood was an early town clerk in Cabot. He served from 1796 to 1832, except for 1822, when Joseph Fisher held the office. When Osgood was unable to serve due to advanced age, his son, Thomas, Jr., was elected and held the office for the next 15 years, resigning just before his death in 1858.

To plan a visit to either our Main Street Museum or the restored West Hill School, if you want to see specific records, e-mail  us before your visit at for more information or to arrange a tour. We will gladly arrange a visit to either or both museums. We also try to answer genealogical questions about early Cabot families by e-mail.

We want to hear from anyone with a historical program of interest to our public and members.  If you have an idea for such a talk, please contact us by e-mail.
