Luke Fisher Farm

     Luke Fisher, award-winning farmer, husband and father, operated a hillside farm west of Cabot village that had belonged to his grandfather, Joseph Fisher, since 1882.  Local historian, Barbara Carpenter, wrote about the Fisher Farm in 2017.  In her report she says:  " . . . it was Luke who played a heroic part in the introduction of testing for bovine tuberculosis in Vermont and, subsequently, the nearly complete eradication of this disease in the cattle of this State."  Her complete report follows:
