Mongol invasion of Germany

The defence of Guben and the bravery of Nicholas Truxal.

During the middle of the 1200's, or the 13th century there was a threat that had the possibility of destroying Europe. The Mongols had invaded Russia, had moved into Hungary, and were about to attack Germany. The first city that had to go would have been Guben on the Northeast side of Germany. During one of the initial skirmishes with the Mongolians the German commander Olaf Truxal was shot through the neck by an arrow. Nicholas Truxal had to take over command of the forces in the region.
