Additional Information

Abstract: »The essay examines the controversial issue of prosecution of the German soldiers in the occupied Soviet Union. It deals with the question to what extent the German military court penalized its own soldiers. A comprehensive evaluation of the remaining files, interviewing contemporary witnesses and a critical examination of former research gives a differentiated picture concerning the activities of the military tribunals. In fact the military justice was quite interested to punish offenders turning judgment in favor of the German perpetrators into an exception.« (Source: Rechtskultur)
