Abstract: »This article reviews the validity of Prof. Yuha Park’s objections to the criticism of Empire’s Comfort Women. This book, concerning Japan’s system of military sexual slavery, has been criticized for its misconceptions of precedence research , and inaccurate historical sources. Critics argue that the book denies the Japanese state’s legal responsibility for the transfer of the imperial agent. Prof. Park has objected that critics of the book are misreading and distorting it. However, this objection is not valid. Park distinguishes between Japanese “responsibility” and “legal responsibility”. Denying the latter limits the overall responsibility of the agent and condones criminal activity. Also objections regarding the interpretation fodder staying in generalities level. However, Prof. Park’s objection is based on an incorrect understanding of the criticism.« (Source: DBpia)
