Connecting Pittsburgh Jewish Youth with Their Local Jewish Heritage

A curriculum for teaching the history of the Jews in Pittsburgh

to upper elementary, middle school, and high school students

The Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh reached its centennial year in 2012.  On that occasion, the Federation funded the development of curriculum to introduce students to the history of the Pittsburgh Jewish community.  These materials represent a partnership of the Rauh Jewish Archives at the Heinz History Center, which contributed the archival materials and historical content, and the Agency for Jewish Learning, which used its educational expertise to design these study guides.

The site was created as a resource for teachers and provides access to the study guides and to relevant resources.
